Larsen Group 2023 Leadership Program Offerings

The descriptions below detail the available leadership program offerings for your organization.  We have included in the descriptions who the program is for, the program title, and the content or outcomes of the program offering.  The overview descriptions are followed by an application matrix that shows how these programs relate to the individuals involved in the programs and the learning needs/leader responsibilities.

  • Frontline Leader Development Program (FLDP)

    This program is structured to be a beginning leadership course aimed primarily at leaders of hourly employees. Often these individuals will be leading people who are in a manufacturing, production, or field service type of role.

    At the end of the program the participant will:

    • Understand the use of situational leadership styles to influence better team performance

    • Recognize the importance of unit climate to sustain and improve results

    • Learn techniques of conflict management

    • Have practiced active listening skills

    • Know how to prepare for and manage effective one on one meetings

    • Have practiced the GROW model Coaching technique

    • Recognize and practice influencing different personality styles

    • Understand how to effectively delegate

    • Learn SMART goal setting

    • Appreciate different effective feedback techniques

    • Create a “Next 100 Days” leader action plan

    Concept: Initially, you should have all your frontline leaders attend FLDP. After this initial rollout of the program we recommend holding quarterly FLDP sessions for individuals who have been named as a new leader during the previous quarter.

  • Leading Professionals Program (LPP)

    An FLDP-type program but aimed at people who manage salaried individuals such as scientists, engineers, or finance, operations, etc. people.

    At the end of the program the participant will:

    • Understand the use of situational leadership styles to influence better team performance

    • Recognize the importance of unit climate to sustain and improve results

    • Learn techniques of negotiations

    • Have practiced active listening skills

    • Have practiced the GROW model Coaching technique

    • Recognize and practice influencing different personality styles

    • Learn and apply SMART goal setting

    • Understand how to effectively delegate

    • Build a unit retention plan

  • Leading Leaders Program (LLP)

    A higher level program for leaders who manage managers

    At the end of the program the participant will:

    • Have received a perspective on their leadership effectiveness from team surveys

    • Understand the use of situational leadership styles to influence better team performance

    • Recognize the importance of unit climate to sustain and improve results

    • Have practiced active listening skills

    • Have practiced the GROW model Coaching technique aligned with leaders leading leaders

    • Recognize and practice influencing different personality styles

    • Understand how to effectively delegate to leaders

    • Learn and apply SMART strategic goal setting

    • Appreciate different effective feedback techniques

    • Build a Unit retention plan

    • Recognize and apply the factors of Peak Performance

    • Create a personal growth action plan

  • Next Level Leadership (NLL)

    A program for FLDP or LPP graduates who are searching for more leadership training or who have been identified by your organization’s leadership as a high-potential leader

    At the end of the program the participant will have explored leadership concepts in more depth than FLDP or LPP and will:

    • Have received a perspective on their leadership effectiveness from team surveys

    • Understand the use of situational leadership styles to influence better team performance

    • Recognize the importance of unit climate to sustain and improve results

    • Have practiced active listening skills

    • Have practiced the GROW model Coaching technique in multiple scenarios

    • Recognize and practice influencing different personality styles

    • Know how to effectively delegate

    • Learn influential presentation techniques

    • Learn and apply SMART strategic goal setting

    • Appreciate different effective feedback techniques

    • Build a unit retention plan

    • Recognize and apply the factors of Peak Performance

    • Create a personal growth action plan

  • Executive Development Program (XDP)

    An ongoing program that enables your executives to truly develop, embrace, and utilize their executive leadership skills

    At the end of the program the participant will:

    • Have received a perspective on their leadership effectiveness from team surveys

    • Know the competencies of executive leadership and how to apply to their environment

    • Decode and build critical success factors of their organizational strategy

    • Understand the use of situational leadership styles

    • Recognize the importance of organizational climate to sustain and improve results

    • Understand the disguised elements of leader derailment factors

    • Have practiced the GROW model Coaching technique in multiple scenarios

    • Recognize and practice influencing different personality styles

    • Learn influential presentation techniques

    • Understand and apply the factors of Peak Performance

    • Create a personal growth action plan

  • Coaching Workshop

    A one-day interactive seminar that defines coaching skills and provides opportunities to practice those skills in simulated coaching encounters

    At the end of the program the participant will:

    • Have enhanced their active listening skills

    • Understand interpersonal assumptions

    • Understand the elements of trust

    • Obtain awareness of questioning techniques

    • Learn and practice the GROW model Coaching technique

    • Have a “tool kit” of applicable coaching activities
